(19 January 2022 - FRESNO) Rumors have been flying in public and private conversations for 4 years now but, at long last, popular coffee and tea chain, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, is making its Fresno debut. Bakersfield-based franchisee Golden State Coffee & Tea Inc. is opening 20 stores in California's Central Valley / Central Coast region and, despite a time set-back due to several factors including COVID-19, seems to be getting back on track with store openings now planned in Bakersfield, Madera, and Fresno in the coming days and months.
So, an ETA, please? The company has announced an opening date of Jan. 29th for the Fresno location near Woodward Park's Trader Joe's with more stores coming soon in the neighboring counties of Kings, San Luis Obispo, Monterey, Madera, and Tulare as well.
Founded in Southern California in 1963, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf has expanded to over 1,000 locations in 32 countries. Of interest, the chain was purchased by Jollibee Foods Corporation (also planning a Fresno debut in the future) in 2019.
