(12 May 2021 - FRESNO) Back in August 2020, JTF Fresno's Nextdoor outlet first reported on speculative plans on a move for the western Fresno Costco. Now, after several updates on progress, sources have now verified that Costco at Shaw & Golden State Boulevard (Blythe) has transitioned into the preparation phase for their move to the NE corner of Herndon & Riverside. The existing location has hopelessly outgrown the crowded and run down plaza it currently resides in and NW Fresno has changed in dynamic, needs, and even its location. Parking, store size, and relevant future opportunities in the up & coming El Paseo Marketplace area all went into the exploratory committee's findings and the subsequent decisions from Costco corporate to build in the new location. The new store will contain the familiar tire center that the old location offers and will be adding a new feature to the new 168,691 sq ft location: a drive through car wash. While there is no ETA for the new location of Costco: West Fresno, expect several updates soon with more on this developing story.
