(28 August 2021 - FRESNO) After several months of speculation, it's official: Chipotle Mexican Grill has signed a lease for River Oak Plaza on the southeast corner of Herndon Ave & Brawley Ave. We've been reporting on this since Spring 2021 and, after some questions on the precise location within the plaza, it looks like the store will be a new build directly south of The Habit which is slated to open in a few weeks. Chipotle is only the most recent addition amid the extreme growth along the Herndon corridor near the Figarden Loop. Rumours of a new Chick-fil-A are increasing surrounding a site directly across Brawley Ave from the new Chipotle and there are numerous calls for Trader Joe's in the area as well.
